The ancient city of Corinth is located on the ithsmus that connects the Peloponnese to the main land of Greece. Corinth is located about 48 miles west of Athens. The acrocorinth is a dominating landscape that rises high above the city of Corinth. This is where the temple of Aphrodite stood. Nothing but ruins are left now, but you can imagine just how beautiful this temple was during it’s time. This is the supposed site that many say had more than 1,000 temple prostitutes. This is one of the reasons that the city had a reputation of lust and wealth.
